Ayrshire Cancer Support

Supporting Cancer Patients Throughout Ayrshire

Ayrshire Cancer Support has operated in Ayrshire since 1982 providing emotional support and practical help for cancer patients, their families, carers and the bereaved. Our aim is to ensure that help is readily available for everyone who needs it.

Our Patient Transport Service is staffed by volunteer drivers who use their own vehicles. Patients are collected from their homes, accompanied to hospital and taken home again after treatment. This service is especially useful for patients who feel unwell, those living in rural areas, the elderly and parents taking their children for treatment.

Our Cancer Support Centres in Ayr and Kilmarnock were opened in 1997 in response to an identified need for counselling and support services. The centres still operate today providing a drop in facility for cancer patients, their families and the bereaved and provide a range of services including counselling, support groups and complementary therapies.
