Spring Into Action With A New Evening Class
James Watt College is offering an exciting new range of evening classes at its North Ayrshire campus this spring. New classes for this spring will give the people of North Ayrshire a chance to learn about the national bard Rabbie Burns, boost their confidence, explore crime in the UK or start back on a path to learning with a Sociology course.
The Life and Times of Robert Burns evening class offers an introduction to the man behind the poetry and will explore some of the myths and legends surrounding Scotland's bard. The class, which runs for nine weeks, will also cover the rich social context of 18th century Scotland and how it inspired some of his greatest works. Anne Campbell, Learning Manager, Education, Humanities, Science and Care, said: "As this is the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns' birth we thought it would be appropriate to run a course which lets you meet the man behind the poetry. You don’t have to be fluent in Burns to enjoy the class and it will give a better understanding of his life, the passion behind his work and really help make Burns come to life."
"Evening classes are an ideal way to try new things or rediscover an old hobby. People from all walks of life come to the classes so it's also a good way to meet people and always makes for interesting debates.
